LOGISTICS & BOOKINGS
How to book your hotel and extra activities
How to get there:
The best way to reach Bariloche (BRC) is via Buenos Aires, which has two airports, the international one (EZE), and the domestic one (BUE). Your flight will arrive to EZE, and ideally, try to find a flight to Bariloche directly from this airport. Otherwise, you’ll have to change airports to BUE, for your last leg to Bariloche.
The classic airlines are Aerolineas Argentinas and Latam.
Low cost works ok if you don’t have much luggage: Flybondi, Norwegian, Andes airlines
These days is not convenient to take the bus from Buenos Aires.
Another option involves flying to Santiago de Chile, then to Puerto Montt, and finish crossing the Andes by bus or rented car.
IMPORTANT for Hotel booking:
EVERY PARTICIPANT IS RESPONSABLE FOR BOOKING THEIR OWN HOTEL ROOM FOR THE AMOUNT OF NIGHTS AND PERSONS YOU NEED.
WE RESERVED A GENERAL AMOUNT OF ROOMS UNDER THE NAME OF AAGM- ASSEMBLY 2019 , SO WHEN YOU BOOK PLEASE LET THEM KNOW THIS CODE :

Climbing areas around or near Bariloche
There are over 20 different areas within 20’ to 1hs drive from downtown. Some are accesible with public transport. Visit:
Cerro Lopez offers routes from three to eight pitches, quite close to the town and with a short approach, with protection being partly trad, in an incredibly beautiful setting. Visit:
Cerro Catedral / Frey offers routes from one to ten pitches, accesible from the Frey Hut requiring a three hour approach, with protection being partly trad. The rock and setting are both of incredible quality. The trail head can be reached with public transport. Visit:
Piedra Parada is a sport climbing area located near Esquel, four hours from Bariloche. It offers over 500 pitches, in a desert canyon that is breathtaking. This is where the 2011 Petzl Rock Trip took place. Although it is possible to get there with public transport, we suggest renting a car. There is a campground on site, and it is also possible to stay at guest houses 20km away. See:
Guidebooks to all three areas are available in Bariloche.
